123D is target at Makers and is intended to be simpler. Inventor Fusion is targeted at Mechanical Designers and includes more translators and Which CAD software to use. I've downloaded Autosketch 123d as its free. 123d just never really cut the mustard for me. But there is a free alternative - inventor fusion. Update: TinkerCad has been purchased by Autodesk and is up, 123D is flexible, running on Mac and PC and available in-browser or as a downloadable app. Fusion is a clone of the popular (but expensive) Autodesk Inventor. and has a high learning curve, compared to the aforementioned options.

You can I'm particularly liking the idea behind Fusion. Autodesk's 123D online version of TinkerCad is less buggy, but again too simple to be much use. It is though a very different way to work compared to a CAD program.
